Overview
What are IdP and SSO?
An identity provider (IdP) is a trusted entity which enables the usage of Single Sign-On (SSO). For instance, Okta, Google Workspace, or even your social identity provider like Google can be used as an IdP.
SSO allows you to use one set of credentials (e.g., email and password) to access multiple applications.
Advantages of Using SSO
Reduce password fatigue as users don't need to remember and manage multiple passwords
Simplify usage of different systems to increase productivity
Remove the need for administrators to manage multiple accounts for one user
Simplify the security and compliance review process for onboarding new vendors

Currently, our dashboard supports Google social identity provider.
However, VGS allows you configuring a custom SSO provider that supports SAML 2.0 to access the dashboard. To learn more, visit Configuration page.
