# Enterprise Identity Providers

VGS allows you configuring a custom SSO provider that supports SAML 2.0 to access the dashboard. To learn more, visit [**Configuration**](/enterprise-platform/access-management/enterprise-identity-providers/saml-2.0-configuration.md) page.

## What are IdP and SSO?

An *identity provider* (IdP) is a trusted entity which enables the usage of Single Sign-On (SSO). For instance, [Okta](https://www.okta.com/), [Google Workspace](https://workspace.google.com/), or even your social identity provider like [Google](https://google.com/) can be used as an IdP.

SSO allows you to use one set of credentials (e.g., email and password) to access multiple applications.

### Advantages of Using SSO

* Reduce *password fatigue* as users don't need to remember and manage multiple passwords
* Simplify usage of different systems to increase productivity
* Remove the need for administrators to manage multiple accounts for one user
* Simplify the security and compliance review process for onboarding new vendors
